Leicester Tigers currently have a ticket into the Aviva Premiership play-offs and on current form are the best in the division, having chalked up 24 league points from their past six encounters.

Last weekend a packed Twickenham witnessed Matt O’Connor’s side soar past Bath 34-19, boosting their charge for a semi-final showdown, especially with England internationals Manu Tuilagi and Ben Youngs returning to the fold.

“Manu and Ben are special and very good for us,” declared O’Connor. “We have the squad there, but everyone knows how tough the Premiership is, if you drop your guard, you get beat.

“We spoke post-Six Nations and thought all our games for the run-in were winnable, should we play well enough.

“Saints will be very, very different to what they delivered [against Saracens], we can’t take them for granted. Newcastle are hard to break down and Sale have shown what they’re made of [by defeating Wasps 28-27].”

The Tigers boss was referring to Northampton’s thumping 63-13 home defeat by Sarries in round 19.
